Mayrhofen – Zillertal – Accessible Ski Vacations Near Innsbruck

The Mayrhofen ski resort and area is included in the Zillertal Ski Area. While families on a long ski holiday could rightfully find plenty of slopes in Mayrhofen, the Zillertal area encompasses Fugen, Finkenberg, Hippach, Kaltenback, Zell am Ziller, Hintertux and the Hippach ski area. The Zillertal 3000 lift ticket created resort collaboration, where skiers and snowboarders have access to Eggalm and Rastkogel, too. Gondola opened up Mayrhofen in 1995 making Penken the central local ski area. All this skiing is only a short 70 km from Innsbruck. In Mayrhofen (Zillertal) proper, 43 total ski runs braid in and out forming 157 km of total runs. The 5.5 km long Ahorn Valley run drops an impressive 1300 meters. The resort begins at 630 meters and tops out at 2500 meters, the highest maximum altitude. Between these altitudes lies 92 km of blue runs (22 total runs), 45 km of red runs (27 total runs) and 20 km of black (3 total runs) and 20 km of cross-country trails—all speedily served by 30 ski lifts. Snowboarding at Mayrhofen is never second-rate. The Gerent Ridge is collectively known as one of the supreme place to ride, with plenty of spacious slopes at Penken and the Vans Penken Park at Hintertrett.

Hotels and apartments mesh together here forming lodges known as "Apparthotels" where the alpine views are as good as the adequate prices. There are three and four star hotels in Mayrhofen that are suitable for families and even pets (allowed in may places).
