Schladming-Rohrmoos is a big part of the Dachstein-Tauern Ski Area, where a well-priced ski lift pass bestows access to Ramsau am Dachstein, Reiteralm and Hauserkaibling — Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains have been interlinked for almost two decades. In all, Schladming-Rohrmoos (Planai Ski Resort) provides 30 ski runs (for 114 km) while the Dachstein-Tauern Ski Area gives way to 860 km of total skiing. The longest run in Schladming-Rohrmoos itself is 7.7 km, losing 1100 meters of elevation in just a couple of minutes. Schladming-Rohrmoos pistes and resort altitude start around the 750-meter mark, while the highest lift reaches 1900 meters. Getting to Schladming-Rohrmoos has never been easier or quicker, with direct bus from the Salzburg airport 90 km away and the railway station at Schladming providing trouble-free transport. In Schladming-Rohrmoos alone, skiers and snowboarders will have access to 1 expert ski run, 18 intermediate runs and 6 blue runs. The whole area gives access to over 300 km of cross-country skiing trails to boot. Snowboarding in the Planai is considered very good, with two more snowboard areas at Burton Superpark and Hoxhwurzen.
