Les Menuires is a purpose built ski resort that is part of the larger Le Trois Vallees or the three valleys. Slightly quieter than other resorts in the three valleys area the resort is designed mainly for advanced and intermediate skiers with its 160 kms of pisted slopes. Having said this, there are still a total of 33 novice slopes as well as 5 gentle nursery slopes to tempt first time skiers here. The resort altitude sits at 1850 metres and the highest lift (of which there are 40 in total and capable of moving over 50,000 people every single hour) transports you to a breathtaking 3200 metres. Book your Les Menuires ski holidays with confidence, because unusually, they offer a snow guarantee with the option of refunding you if you are not happy. However, there are 418 snow cannons on standby just in case.
About the village
The accommodation in Les Menuires is mainly apartment blocks which offer great value for money. But if you are looking for a hotel, Les Menuires has a small satellite village called Reberty, which is a little way up the valley. Here you will find a good selection of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets.
The apres ski scene here is slightly more sophisticated and not as wild as other resorts in the valley, but there are still a good variety of bars, restaurants and a nightclub to choose from. The Perdrix Blanche has to be recommended simply because it does the best pizza for miles around.
Shopping in Les Menuires is mainly in the two main quarters of the resort which are La Croisette and Les Bruyeres and here you will find a variety of shops ranging from sports shops, to fashion boutiques and food halls.

HOW TO GET THERE
The nearest airport is Chambery's which is around 100 kms away from the resort. Low cost airlines such as Easyjet fly into this destination regularly. From the airport you can travel by train to Moutiers which is the nearest station (27 kms away) and you can get a shuttle bus from here. Or if you prefer to travel in style, then the resort has several companies that offer airport runs to and from the resort.
WHY WE RECOMMEND IT
If you like your skiing a little less full on and a little more laid back and relaxed, then Les Menuires is certainly the place for this. It offers great value for money and caters for all levels and abilities. Its apres ski scene is slightly more "gentile" than that of other resorts in the area, but there is still plenty to keep you occupied once you are here. All in all, great destination, great skiing and great value!
