La Thuile – Espace San Bernardo – Bordering Ski Vacations

La Thuile – Espace San Bernardo lies in the Aosta Valley, a place where the skiing is shared by France and Switzerland. Now that the borders were removed several years ago, it is possible to ski in all three countries on any given day—a ski pass gives skiers and borders their money’s worth with La Rosiere in France. The La Thuile – Espace San Bernardo in Italy, however, has a varying history of Celt and Roman conquerors, but today the resort looks more purpose built than historic. Nevertheless, it is possible to happen upon a lost relic or fallen column now and again. The highest altitude here reaches 2641 meters, with 74 total ski runs covering almost 150 km (when combined with the other skiable resorts). The longest run, no doubt, last for 11 km, with drops near 1200 meters. The 35 km of cross-country trails and an equal amount of skate cross country runs, when combined with snow tubing, heli-skiing (legal only in Italy), winter hiking and free style snowboarding park, make La Thuile – Espace San Bernardo an unbeatable ski holiday for anyone remotely interested in winter sports. A campground and nearly 20 restaurants, bars and shops makes mingling aprčs ski nothing short of fun.
