Icefestival 15. – 18. January
IceFestival is the world’s only music festival where all instruments are made from ice. IceFestival is arranged at the year’s first full moon. The concerts will occur outdoor with a view of the magnificent Hallingskarvet Mountain. Large igloos will house the stage areas, as well as service facilities.

Kick sledge world Championship 30. January – 1. February An obligatory hot dog stop! Test yourself in downhill chair sledge, the children have their own championship. Bring your friends and colleagues to compete. This is a unique arrangement with one of the oldest means of transportation in Norway. Kick sledge world Championship is arranged for the 30 time in a row. A lot of fun in the centre of Geilo is promised.

Easter program 6. April – 13. april Concerts and arrangements for the whole family.

Skarverennet 25th of April Saturday the 259th of April one of the world’s largest skiing competitions takes place in beautiful surroundings along the Hallingskarvet. There are two different lengths to choose from; Finse- Ustaoset, 38 km and Haugastol – Ustaoset, 24 km. This weekend there will be festivities both in the ski-tracks and in the centre of Geilo.

EVENTS SUMMER 2009 Gjestebod til fjells and The Hol Day. End of Julyt Experience traditions within hand craft, local music, food and culture. The whole week is full of exciting activities for the whole family. The week starts with a Marked Day and ends with the Hol Day. The Hol Day. Beginning of August; This festival will show how a wedding took place in the good old Norwegian days. The program features traditional music and traditional Halling food will be served. This festival was arranged for the first time in 1957. Norwegian Food Festival: Medio/end of September. Halling Tapas, Food Auction, Children’s food tent, Cook battle and free tasting for everyone! Great tasting for visitors and an exciting program like Halling Championship in local food.
