Vogel offers good conditions as well as everything else that a skier or snowboarder looks for in backcountry. Steep slopes from the top of Šija to the Prešeren cottage can be a great experience, though not without landslides. Lots of good snow can also be found in the back of Vogel and through Žagar graben, if the temperatures are right. If you want to ski all the all the way to the village of Polje, simply descent from the top of Šija to the valley of Suhe all the way to the trees as well as among them, then follow the cart track to the valley. The descent can take up to 1 hour, with the loss of orientation even longer. Due to many accidents in the past, we strongly recommend you have all the necessary equipment with you. Country skiers can go all the way up to Vogel, but this track requires more knowledge of the mountains and landslides.
