Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk – Swiss Ski Holidays Just Can’t Be Beat
Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk ski area (sometimes referred to as the Adelboden-Lenk Ski area) is about as Swiss as a Swiss resort can be—quaint, charming with picture-perfect slopes and modern interlinked skiing. If any European country knows quality (especially slope standards), of course, it is Switzerland. In any case, the easiest way by plane to get to Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk is through Zurich, just less than 200 km away. There is both a bus from the airport and a train station 16 km away in Frutigen. Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk is frequented by visitors for a number of reasons. The major motive is the 105 ski runs encircling each other for 185 km. The longest slope runs for 7 km, dropping skiers off nearly 1347 vertical feet lower. The lowest skiers and boarders can hit the powder at is 1000 meters, with the resort and hotels sitting at 1350 meters. The highest lift drops skiers off at 3000 meters. Over half of Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk can be covered in machine-made flakes, with night skiing being almost as popular as its day time counterpart. The ski pistes are made up of diversified levels: Blues travel for 80 km over 40 different runs; reds shoot for 88 km over 50 various runs; and blacks hurtle over 17 km for 14 disparate runs—the best can take a challenge in the World Cup Chuenisbergli black piste. Snowboarding is extreme in Adelboden – Frutigen – Lenk with a half pipe, fun park, cross and plenty of jumps. The Engstligenalp is a natural board park; it is here that professionals spend most of their time.

Since most of the pistes face north, it’s easy to get into nature and sunshine near the hotels. Some offer sweet views of the Adelboden mountains in the distance, while others are closer to the village center.
