About the ski resort Arosa
Arosa – Ski Vacations That Began Long Ago
Swiss ski resort Arosa has been around for quite a long time, with the first ski club starting in 1903 and the earliest ski school by 1933. Arosa is in Grisons and is housed under the Top Cart Ski Area, a linked lift system that rivals the best in any country. The altitude in and around Arosa begins at 1739 meters with a max height of 2653 meters, though the Arosa resort lies just at 1800 meters. There are 60 km and 17 ski runs to choose from. The longest slope only runs for 4 km, but gaining some speed is possible with a drop of just over 900 meters. The nearest airport lies in Zurich around 150 km away. If skiers and boarders come earlier or later in the season, Arosa can cover over 50% of it’s skiing and snowboarding terrain with 120 snow cannons. The lines are never too queued up with 16 full-time ski lifts. Getting off the slopes onto trails takes cross-country skiers to 14 km of trails and 12 km of skate cross-country trails. Night skiing takes place seven nights a week. Snowboarding in Switzerland, and Arosa specifically, has always lives up to its hype. The half pipe, Snow Drop fun park and tons of jumps keeps boarders content in Arosa.
Arosa Accommodation:
Three and four-star hotels dot the wintry landscape and reflect the outdoorsy charm that is Arosa’s insignia. Some hotels and lodges refer themselves as "sporthotels", meaning they have après ski amenities. Arosa apartments can house small or large groups, offering equidistant access to both the center of town and the slopes.
