About the ski resort Saint Moritz Engadin
Saint Moritz – Engadin – Ski Vacations Geared To Intermediates
The resort of Saint Moritz is part of the Engadin ski area, as many other ski resorts in the area are part of the same ski pass opening up a world of possibilities—such as Aela, Maloja-Furtschellas, Sils-Corvatsch, Piz Nair, et cetera—and 350 km of skiing opportunities. The closest airport to Saint Moritz-Engadin is Milano (Milan) in Italy, roughly 175 km away. Saint Moritz skiing in general is well-catered to intermediate and advanced skiers; however, many of the beginning slopes will get quick learners up to red skiing in no time. There are 88 total ski runs with all the other resorts included. The longest of any slope skiable here is 11 km, losing around 1500 meters of altitude. The piste breakdown, as hinted earlier, tips the scales to red skiers—they get 245 km of the 350 km and 61 of the 88 total slopes—incredible! Blues get 70 km and only 18 of the 88 total ski runs. Black runs, though receiving only 9 total runs over 35 km, are still very challenging and can take weeks to conquer. The skiing areas start at 1800 meters and top off at 3303 meters, with the resort sitting just 50 meters above the lowest altitude at 1850 meters. Snowboarding is treated with open arms in Saint Moritz Engadin. In fact, they were one of the first to host the Snowboard World Championships back in 1987! Snow parks, half pipes, wave rides, cross, mumps and boxes and then some await chronic snowboard addicts.Saint Moritz Engadin Accommodation:
Three and four-star hotels and lodges await those interested in testing the frozen winter tundra of St. Moritz. There are some lofty apartments with views a little outside of the town center.
