Veysonnaz – Les 4 Vallees –Ski Vacations No One Thought Of, Till Now

Veysonnaz in the Les 4 Vallees (Four Valleys Ski Area) in Valais, Switzerland plays a key roll in accessing the other ski resorts encompassed in the Four Valleys tour. Veysonnaz has only recently gained popularity. Big resorts seemingly have the best pistes (and more to choose from), while smaller resorts get left out of the mix. A few things have changed for Veysonnaz, however. Though small in stature, Veysonnaz is big with quite a few challenging runs. There are 11 total chair, drag and cable lifts in Veysonnaz capable of carrying nearly 10000 skiers per hour. The other Four Valleys connected in at least one way or another to Veysonnaz are Bruson, Evolene, La Tzoumaz, Thyon, Verbier, Siviez and Nendaz. Veysonnaz alone has 28 snow cannons (when needed) to add fresh powder to 20% of its slopes. The lowest attainable altitude in Veysonnaz is 1400 meters, just 70 meters below the resort itself. Additionally, the highest lift lifts skiers and boarders to just under 2500 meters with 55 km of total downhill ski runs. Experts and intermediate skiers will have to share the 7 red (40 km) runs while beginners are given 30% of that with 15 km and 3 different runs. One red run in particular loses over 1000 meters of elevation in one go. Veysonnaz skiing caught on, and now there are things to do from children to adults, active or passive.
