Nassfeld Hermagor: A Vast Ski Vacation Destination
There are many great ski areas in Austria. However, not all make the top ten cut, yet Nassfeld Hermagor seems to always make it into the "Top 10 Austrian Resorts". One reason that the Nassfeld luck does not run out is the snow reliability of the place. Even during the global warming crisis in numerous European ski resorts, Mother Nature keeps pouring snow on Nassfeld every winter. Not to mention that ski runs range from the ones suitable for beginners and intermediates to the ones that suit the experts.
The Millenium Express, the longest cable car in the area, will take visitors through the Alps. A fact that speaks volumes about the modern aspect of the whole ski resort. Easily reachable from the Klagenfurt airport, which is located only 50 km away, Nassfeld Hermagor encompasses quite a variety of ski runs: There are 37 runs totalling 110 km in length, with the longest stretching over an 8 km distance. Night skiing, a snowboarding park and a plethora of cross-country runs (91 km) along with skate cross-country runs (24 km) means that all levels are catered for.
NASSFELD HERMAGOR ACCOMMODATION:
Hotels with spas, apartments with restaurants and lodges close to the slopes make Nassfeld Hermagor seem like paradise on earth. There are plenty of 2-4 star hotels that are suitable for families. If there are large groups, houses can be rented per week, although the price will vary depending on its vicinity to the slope. Accommodation in Nassfeld Hermagor is booked quickly during the high season, but skiers can find a last minute place to stay.
