1. The world’s largest ski area:
France offers the World’s largest ski areas. For instance, the Les 3 Vallées area comprises more than 600km of pistes and 200 lifts, all of it accessible with a unique ski pass.
2. Guaranteed snow cover throughout winter :
Because of the French resorts’ high altitude, the considerable slope preparation conducted every summer, and the use of artificial snow, the snow coverage is guaranteed in many resorts. About 1/6th of the French ski area is equipped with automated snow producing installations. Many of the French ski resorts, Tignes, Val Thorens and Les 2 Alpes, to name a few, have glaciers that also offer excellent summer skiing conditions.

The ski areas all offer slopes of varied difficulty levels and free ride zones, to use with caution of course.

Resorts have adapted themselves to the new winter sports (snowboarding, heli skiing, etc) and most offer spaces and installations solely intended for them.

Licensed instructors and childcare technicians look over the children in daycare centers, teach the first steps on the snow or the ski basics to the older ones. This family orientation makes France an ideal ski holiday destination.
