Mayrhofen – Zillertal – Accessible Ski Vacations Near Innsbruck
The Mayrhofen ski resort and area is included in the Zillertal Ski Area. While families on a long ski holiday could rightfully find plenty of slopes in Mayrhofen, the Zillertal area encompasses Fugen, Finkenberg, Hippach, Kaltenback, Zell am Ziller, Hintertux and the Hippach ski area. The Zillertal 3000 lift ticket created resort collaboration, due to which skiers and snowboarders have access to Eggalm and Rastkogel, too. The gondola opened in 1995 making Penken the central local ski area. All this is only 70 km from Innsbruck. In Mayrhofen (Zillertal) there are 43 ski runs forming 157 km of total runs. Inbetween lie 92 km of blue runs (22 runs in total), 45 km of red runs (27 in total) and 20 km of black (3 in total) and 20 km of cross-country trails — all reachable by 30 ski lifts. The Gerent Ridge is collectively known as one of the supreme places to ride, with plenty of spacious slopes at Penken and the Vans Penken Park at Hintertrett.
